Probably more than ever, the issue of slurry is a hot topic not only for hog farms, but also for all types of animal fattening farms – the 2017 German Technical Instructions on Air Quality Control (TA Luft) and the German Federal Immission Control Act (BimSchG) require action in connection with many slurry silos or pits. After corresponding field tests in 2016 and a series of trials carried out by the accredited service laboratory for agricultural and environmental analysis LUFA NORD-WEST, the newly developed product CN Protect Plus reached market maturity in spring 2017. Already in the past, sustainable expanded clay was used as a slurry silo cover. However, only the advanced product CN Protect Plus that has now come on the market and is also based on the natural raw material clay meets all the specifications and requirements of the TA Air and the BImSchG.

A SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE PRINCIPLE FOR SLURRY CONTAINER COVERS
For covering your slurry silo or pit, an initial filling with an approx. 15-cm thick layer of CN Protect Plus is recommended. We will be happy to help you determine your volume requirements. As a mineral floating cover, CN Protect Plus adjusts constantly and automatically to the current fill level of the slurry container and ensures a continuously closed cover that closes again immediately even after strong winds or agitation.
CN Protect Plus is a natural product and yet virtually indestructible. Only a low sinkage rate, estimated to be approx. 4 percent per year, should be taken into account. If a slight amount of the product is accidentally carried along when slurry is removed, that is not a problem. Because of the general soil-improving properties of CN Protect Plus, the field can only benefit from this unintentional, but nevertheless positive development.
