The tried and tested CN Tree Snorkel
For most people, spring is simply a wonderful season, the planting season.
After winter dragged on far too long, spring came much too slowly and step by excruciatingly small step this year. Mother nature held back for a long time due to the lengthy period of cold weather, even though the gardens were waiting patiently on the starting blocks.
Then the long-awaited starting signal came and the familiar blaze of colour that we enjoy each year finally exploded in the gardens once again. This is when every gardener wants to design and create their own little garden paradise.
And now the time is ripe for the fruit enthusiasts amongst the gardeners to select the right fruit trees and to plant them correctly. But it takes careful soil management for the trees to be able to bear the much deserved juicy crop later in the year. This is directly linked to the selection of the plants, but it is also depends on ensuring that the roots have a continuous supply of water and the necessary nutrients. And this is where the CN tree snorkel comes in.
Application
1. CN Tree Snorkel
2. Planting substrate with organic matter (e.g. a mixture of CN expanded clay, topsoil and compost)
3. Planting substrate without organic matter (e.g. a mixture of CN expanded clay and subsoil)
4. . CN expanded clay as a drainage layer
The tree snorkel contains a mixture of different sized grains of expanded clay. The expanded clay is open-pored, structurally stable and provides reliable protection against soil compaction, permitting optimum supply of oxygen and water to the roots thanks to the special distribution of the pores. The tree snorkel’s high air entrainment specifically promotes the soil-gas exchange and thus the nutrient supply and growth of the roots. Four tree snorkels are required per tree.
The expanded clay is used both as drainage filling material on the floor of the tree pit as well as aggregate for tree planting and tree maintenance and surgery. Please refer to the product range data sheet for details on the physical properties and the delivery form.
We wish you every success, and your trees healthy and strong roots.
