Individual, natural solutions for greening spaces using hydroponics
The stereotype that hydroponics is only something for 'older' people is completely misplaced, because hydroponics offers a vast variety of appealing plants. Trendy planters in various shapes, sizes, colours and materials complement the range. In addition to free-hanging arrangements, there are also plantable picture frames, individual wall pots and standing planters. The water requirement for hydroponics is simply shown by a water-level indicator. Information on fertiliser and plant care is easy to find.
Our product line CN Green Line, CN Hydro®, is a natural, sustainable, very high quality and consistently stable expanded clay substrate for hydroponic applications that can be used right from the start for indoor greening. Our CN Green Line Hydro substrates with a grain size of 4–8 mm and 8–6 mm are made of special Leca expanded clay and are generally kidney-shaped in form. They are among the few expanded clay products in Germany that meet the strict quality requirements for expanded clay as a growing medium. The Gütegemeinschaft Substrate für Pflanzen e.V., the quality assurance organisation for growing media located in Hanover, regularly monitors the quality of the submitted samples of expanded clay substrates and only awards its coveted RAL quality seal if the product meets strict quality criteria.
Hydroponics is safe in hospitals and medical practices
Hydroponics has practical advantages in addition to its versatility. One is, for example, the fact that, unlike with conventional pot plants (soil planting), hydroponic planting eliminates the risk of mould forming in moist soil. This is quite simply because hydroponic plants are cultivated in a natural, inert expanded clay substrate instead of in soil. This removes the basis for the formation of dangerous mould spores, and the room air is not contaminated. As a result, this greatly reduces the risk of people becoming infected with mould spores, especially people with a weakened immune system.
The main danger of mould spores is that they usually trigger an allergic reaction in sensitive people. As a result, the affected persons can then suffer from hypersensitivity and diseases, or related symptoms are triggered. Moulds are often underestimated, but they produce toxic substances as metabolic by-products and through their reproductive organs.
Hydroponic systems can be successfully used for the greening of rooms in hospitals and medical practices, in waiting areas and corridors.
Our tip: As a rule, do not settle for less than a good product of very high quality.
